With your help we were successful in raising over $125,000 toward the purchase of a new Telemetry system used during the rehabilitation of patients who have experienced a heart attack.

Thank you for your support.

Gala 2009 - Donors

The Bonnyville Health Foundation would like to express sincere thanks to everyone who has so kindly contributed to the success of our Twelfth Annual Gala.  Without your assistance, we would not be able to continue our mandate of providing much needed equipment and education at Bonnyville Health Centre.

Gala 2008 Surpasses Expectations

The Board recognizes with much gratitude the many volunteer hours contributed by a host of individuals who work so hard to make each Gala an outstanding success.

An initial estimate of profit is approximately $150,000.00 so our goal of $100,000 to purchase the x-ray equipment was attained.  Thank you one and all.

Gala 2008 - Black Gold

A salute to all those involved in the oil industry.

The eleventh annual Bonnyville Health Foundation Gala was an overwhelming success.  This year we wanted to pay tribute to all those corporations, companies and individuals associated with the oil patch.  Wishing to increase the number of participants this year we chose as our venue the Field House at the Bonnyville Centennial Centre.  The decorating committee had a challenge to come up with a fitting decor but once again the results were amazing.  Guests and participants entered the room through an illuminated wooden oil derrick and were greeted by hosts.  They were escorted to one of sixty eight tables beautifully adorned in black and gold with a derrick center piece created by Metal Magic surrounded with gold coins, flickering candles and two bottles of wine compliments of Victor Rinquette.

Eighteen live auction and fifty eight silent auction items kept the crowd busy competing for the final price.  Raffle tickets were sold.  Prizes were: a $5,000.00 gift certificate sponsored by CNRL, a 32” Toshiba LCD TV donated by Furniture Galaxy, a Mayfield Hotel and Theatre Package given by Neighbourhood Inn.  There was also a 50/50 cash draw and a week stay in Puerto Vallarta donated by Tim and Susan Schultz.  Our three entertaining auctioneers even provided us with their rendition of a hit from the Beverly Hillbillies.

An unusually large number of outright cash donations were presented during the evening: Lakeland Credit Union gave $25,000.00, Imperial Oil Cold Lake Operations covered the cost of the meal, hors d’oeuvers and lunch with a cheque for $12,500.00, the local Bonnyville Lions Club, the Royal Canadian Legion, branch No 183, B & R Eckels each gave 10,000.00, $5,000.00 was given by Glenn and Tracy Flynn.  The Bonnyville FCSS preschool “Twist-a-Thon” project gave $7,000.00, the Ardmore Beef 4-H Club contributed $4,088.00, Ned Brand contributed $3,000.00 and Tangled Threads quilting group gave $1,360.00.  For the 11th year the Bonnyville Medical Clinic gave $3,200.00 for the Aura Band.

A very interesting and lively power point and oral presentation by Dr. Louis Coetzee and Diana Levasseur from the Medical Imaging Department of Bonnyville Health Centre described the piece of x-ray equipment which is to be purchased by the proceeds from the 2008 Gala, the GE Delfinium 8000 unit.

The Health Foundation Board and Fund Raising Committee are truly grateful and appreciative for the many individuals and groups that contributed to this year’s Gala event.  A heartfelt thank you to the many sponsors of live and silent auction items, to those who purchased these items to the sponsors of the Raffle and 50/05 draw and to those who gave door prizes and other generous cash donations and contributions.

Last Event "A night at the Oscars" - Gala 2006

B & R ECKELS, BRAND INTERNATIONAL, HOME HARDWARE, BONNYVILLE 4-H CLUB & BONNYVILLE MEDICAL CLINIC WERE JUST A FEW OF THE WINNERS AT OUR “NIGHT AT THE OSCARS”

Many stars shone at “Night at the Oscars”, this year’s annual Bonnyville Health Foundation fund raising gala.  An exceptionally successful evening was highlighted with outstanding performances by many local sponsors and donors contributing towards the Bonnyville Health Centre’s new orthopedic program. “The evening was just unbelievable” said Roy Doonanco, Chair of the Bonnyville Health Foundation.

“However, I have to congratulate several outstanding performances of the evening, those of Ned Brand of Brand International, Home Hardware, Bonnyville Medical Clinic and Victor Ringuette, owner of B&R Eckels Transport Ltd. Ned Brand gave an outright monetary donation of $5,000 in addition to purchasing $11,550.00 at the live auction for a total contribution of $16,550.00. B&R Eckels presented a cheque to the Foundation for $10,000.00 along with all the wine for the evening”, said Doonanco.  “Home Hardware gave an outright donation of $5000.00 and the Bonnyville Medical Clinic came through once again with a $3000.00 cheque to pay for the band. The generosity and commitment of these individuals to our health service and to this community is absolutely unparalleled.”

We are also very impressed and grateful that the members of the Bonnyville 4-H Club took such an interest, once again, by donating $3277.00.  It is gratifying to see the youth of this area committed to projects which enhance the well being of people in Bonnyville and area.

The “Night at the Oscars” was the theme for the ninth annual fund raising gala sponsored by the Bonnyville Health Foundation with this year’s benefit going towards enhancing the new orthopedic program, led by orthopedic surgeon Dr. Babarum, which is now in its 6th month of operation.  Although all the final numbers are not in yet, it is anticipated that this year’s event brought in a net profit of over $80,000.00.

As some of our stars arrived by limo they walked on red carpet and were greeted by 2 doormen.  Over 340 guests attended the evening gala which included a sumptuous dinner, silent and live auction and dance with music supplied by ‘Aura’ in an appropriately themed and beautifully decorated hall thanks to the hard working and creative decorating committee members and numerous volunteers.

The Health Foundation Board and Fund Raising Committee salute the many sponsors and buyers who shared so generously making the 2006 Gala event the biggest success ever!

Next years 10th Annual Gala is planned for February 24, 2007.
